Collisions or crashes are not the only way of getting injured in automobiles. The involvement of another vehicle is not necessary to create injury.

Forbes reported that injuries happen even without hitting on the ignition or having the hands on the wheel.

Do you know that closing the doors cause 150,000 incidents annually? The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed that hands getting caught on the car doors are the most common type of a car related injury.

Moreover, about 10,000 are injured when using a jack or hoist each year. Another 74,000 are seriously injured by a falling vehicle part or vehicle.

This data has been the first compilation for a government agency. The results were alarming.

We now know that many accidents occur just by getting in and out of the car or changing tires or car parts.

With these bits of information, we could be more careful and safer when around automobiles. In fact, preventing non-crash accidents are easier than preventing crash accidents. The former more lies in our hands while the latter is beyond our control as it involved many factors.
