Lori Petty pleads no contest to DUI charges

Lori Petty, who once stared in films such as “Point Break,” “Tank Girl” and “A League of Their Own”, could only apologize and regret the incident that led her to plead no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge last Friday.

Petty was arrested last May 30 after her car hit a skateboarder in the Venice Beach area. To show her regret on the incident, she issued a statement apologizing for drunk driving and promised the accident would be her last arrest on the charge.  She even urged people not to drink and drive.

Petty entered the plea through her attorney. City Attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan said Petty was able to complete some of the terms of her sentence including counseling for alcohol abuse. Petty was no longer required to appear in court.

Lessons are learned in the hard way. A simple rule of not driving while intoxicated may cause life changing consequences if not followed.
